There’s a certain gravity that comes with the realization that one is, indeed, back on their bullshit. Yrstruly is a perfect example of why we can’t have nice things.

What happens when your crush becomes an actuality? What’s the next step after the reality of the situation you idealized isn’t exactly what you had in mind? Our would-be protagonist has a bad habit of camping in his feelings. Of building fires on summer evenings, setting flame to potential positive outcomes, feeding an orange fascination, every story just a small pocket of forest getting sacrificed along the way. Ninety plus & sunny out, and all he cares about is watching it burn. Self sabotage always looks sexier on paper.

Things fall apart. You decline calls. She ghosts you. Or maybe one of you takes the higher road, orchestrating the painful breakup of a relationship that barely even existed. This is where you find yourself, alone, right back where you started, attempting to put the pieces back together.
